Pin An indulgent dessert board featuring slices of moist caramel banana bread, fresh fruits, creamy spreads, and sweet treats, perfect for sharing at gatherings or as a show-stopping brunch centerpiece.
I made this charcuterie board for a family brunch, and everyone loved being able to mix and match their favorite fruits, spreads, and banana bread. It's always the centerpiece of any dessert table.
Ingredients
- Caramel Banana Bread: 2 ripe bananas (mashed), 100 g (½ cup) unsalted butter (melted), 120 g (½ cup) light brown sugar, 2 large eggs, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 200 g (1 ⅔ cups) all-purpose flour, 1 tsp baking soda, ¼ tsp salt, 100 g (½ cup) caramel sauce (plus extra for drizzling)
- Fruits & Accompaniments: 1 cup strawberries (halved), 1 cup blueberries, 2 kiwis (sliced), 2 bananas (sliced), 1 apple (sliced), ½ cup seedless grapes, 1 cup mini pretzels, ½ cup chocolate-covered almonds
- Spreads & Sweets: ½ cup cream cheese (softened), ½ cup Nutella or chocolate-hazelnut spread, ½ cup peanut butter or almond butter, ¼ cup caramel sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- Prepare the Caramel Banana Bread:
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Combine mashed bananas, melted butter, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla in a large bowl. Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a separate bowl. Add dry ingredients to wet mixture, stir just until combined, then fold in caramel sauce. Pour batter into loaf pan and bake 50–60 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely and slice into 1–2 cm thick pieces.
- Assemble the Charcuterie Board:
- Arrange banana bread slices at the center of a large serving board or platter. Surround with groups of strawberries, blueberries, kiwis, banana slices, apple slices, grapes, mini pretzels, and chocolate-covered almonds. Place cream cheese, Nutella, peanut/almond butter, and caramel sauce in separate bowls on the board. Drizzle extra caramel sauce over banana bread if desired. Serve immediately.
